Khook Mueang Village is located near Prasat Mueang Tam, a 1,400 year-old Khmer temple. Situated in the front is Barai Reservoir, representing the ocean that surrounds the sacred Mount Meru in Hinduism. Back in the day, there were volcanoes near the village, so today the soil is very rich in nutrients. Most of the villagers are farmers who are also capable of making various products by using local materials. Some make reed mats while some are very good at silk weaving. The local craftsmanship has eventually become tourist activities for travelers to try which best promotes the identity of Khok Mueang.
